We contacted Oberer about small cracks in our 35 year old masonry home. Josh's father, Gary, came and inspected the house. He saw our crack and found other ones that were obvious once he pointed them out. Gary gave a verbal not to exceed estimate, then followed up with a formal proposal which I accepted. The proposal was less than the verbal estimate. We mistakenly wrote a check for the amount of the verbal estimate that was too big. Josh and Gary returned the check and asked for the lower amount in the proposal. Such honesty is so refreshing. The repair was done quickly, cleanly and professionally. The workmen were courteous and efficient. It was a pleasure working with Oberer. ~ Gary D

Started working with Josh over a year ago. We put off the chimney repair but this spring we noticed it had progressively gotten worse. Josh came back out and gave us a really fair quote even though our layers of repair increased. When you have a brick that is over 25 years old it is difficult to match. Josh brought out a sample for us to review. We agreed it would work. But when Steve and his crew came out and started the repair I couldn't believe how closely the brick matched with our original. It was not the sample that I originally looked at. But I think Josh could see I was just OK with it so he searched even more. Josh went above and beyond to find a closer match. We could not be happier with his selection and the job. Steve and his crew did a fantastic job! My husband commented the brick work is better than what was done by our builder. If I ever need brick repair I would definitely have them back. ~ lisa j

We gave Josh and his crew the challenge of creating openings for windows on a side of our brick house where there weren't any, widening a window opening that we wanted a larger window in, and rebuilding our chimney that was long overdue for some work. His pricing was reasonable. The brickwork is exact and looks great. Our fireplace is a joy to use now. Josh's team was respectful and cleaned up after themselves. He holds his team to a high standard. We're grateful for his flexibility in working with our interior contractor and schedules. Would certainly use Oberer again. ~ Wallace F

This has been the third project I have done using Oberer Construction. During each project, Josh and his crew have done a wonderful job. When I watch them working, it is obvious that each member of the crew has years of experience and know their job on a master level. We are extremely satisfied with the work Josh and his team did to repair our garage after a car trailer rolled down the street and caused severe damage. The trailer hit with such force that it cracked mortar and bricks and twisted parts of the structure. Josh responded quickly, came out to assess the damage, and provided an initial estimate. He also assisted with the insurance claim and helped us find a suitable replacement for our brick, which was no longer in production. They dyed some of the bricks to create a better match with the original brick. Josh was highly professional throughout the project. He was on-site each morning to ensure the work started smoothly and returned in the afternoons to check on progress. He was always available to answer questions or address concerns. Josh estimated five days to strip the brick from the garage, repair the structural damage, and lay new brick—and his team delivered on time and within budget and cleaned up all the mess. I would highly recommend working with Josh and Oberer Construction. They are professional and they do it right the first time. On rare occasions, if you have any issues, they will come back and address the issues. They are courteous, great with communication and great folks to work with. Found Oberer Construction through BBB. Josh came out and assessed where water was getting into the lower level. Rather than saying I needed massive repairs Josh stated that I just needed to caulk gaps on the outside (maybe $20 - $30). In fact, Josh stopped by later on and caulked the gaps himself and didn't charge! Really appreciate the honesty and also the help in finding other resources for my other home projects! ~ Randall S

Had a great experience working Josh Oberer on my chimney repairs. Josh and his crew were attentive and prompt and wasted no time fixing flashing, tuck points and sealing. The first rain we had after the repairs Josh called to make sure we weren’t getting any water inside which had been the problem….now solved. Pricing seemed very fair as well. My experience with Oberer Construction was exceptional. I had a very large section of a decades old window well retaining wall and two retaining walls on either side of the driveway rebuilt/repaired. Josh and his team were all very professional, knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly hard working. I probably contacted close to 10 different companies trying to get estimates for repairing/rebuilding the retaining walls and not only did Josh actually respond to my initial inquiry; he showed up on time for the estimate, provided the estimate when he said it would be available, and actually gave an very reasonable price. Also the work was completed one week ahead of schedule. It is sad that so many companies either never contact you, ghost you after the initial call, or just provide ridiculous estimates. I just wish I came across this company sooner at the beginning of my search. The quality of the work completed was even beyond my expectations. I greatly appreciated their attention to detail, high quality workmanship, maintenance and care of my property, and the cleanup after everything was finished. If you are needing any stone or masonry work, I would highly recommend them. ~ Robert B

They were able to rebuild using the existing flat rocks as requested. Easy to work with. Always able to speak with someone when I had questions. Project took a little longer to get started but they were able to complete the wall within a few days and it looks better than ever. ~ Chad U

Quick to reply to my request. Everyone I talked with from Oberer was knowledgeable of what they do. It did take a couple of weeks for them to be able to do the work, but that was mostly because it was cold and wet during that time. The job they did was fantastic. Had them fix a step and part of the foundation. Both areas look so much better. After the work was done they followed up a week later to collect payment and also to make sure nothing had cracked and needed to be repaired prior to saying the job was finished. If I have any other concrete issues I will definitely use them again and told them I would also tell my friends and family too. ~ Nathan R
